Welcome Jared Alcantara, new Associate Pastor!
By CRCC | September 7, 2005
Well, after months of reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and flying in our top interests for extended visits so that they could meet folks here at CRCC, we have asked Jared Alcantara to join the CRCC team as our new Associate Pastor with Student Ministries Emphasis. Jared comes to us with seven years of experience in youth ministry as well as gifts expressed through effective preaching and teaching to all ages (in fact, in 2004 he won a national preaching competition entered by students from 47 seminaries across the US).
Jared is a remarkable individual who has a passion for youth, teaching and preaching, the church, and God’s work in the world. So, needless to say we’re very pleased that he and his wife, Jennifer, are moving out to Oregon at the end of the month. Just to give a brief bit of background, let me say that Jared has been traveling a lot! Over the past year Jared and Jennifer have lived in Edinburgh, Scotland where he was earning his second Master’s degree (his first was an M.Div. or professional ministry degree and his most recent is in Homiletics).
After finalizing his thesis last week, they returned the States and are enjoying spending a week or two with his family. After that they will be making the drive out to Oregon (Jennifer is from Rogue River) to locate a home in area and begin his ministry work here on October 1st.
So…while you’re waiting to meet Jared and Jennifer please pray for a great time with his family, for safety on their drive across the nation, and for a great transition to full time ministry as part of the CRCC family. Also, please pray for those individuals who applied but were not asked to join the staff here. The search team became very fond of our top applicants and it was very difficult to let some know we weren’t asking them to come on board. Pray specifically that they would find a fruitful place of ministry that would expand God’s work in the world.
