I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26 [...]
Side by Side Prayer Guide: Introduction
Sunday, February 19th, 2006What you’ll find in the following posts is unlike what you’ve found in our previous Columbia Ridge devotional materials. There are no long passages written by me and no theological points I’m trying to “bring home” each day. Were there such things, I believe they would detract from what God wants to do [...]
Side by Side Q & A
Friday, February 17th, 2006Well at this point we’re just a little over a week out from kicking off the Side by Side series. I trust that almost all of you at this point have been visited either in your home or elsewhere regarding Side by Side. I am so very excited about taking this particular journey together – [...]

Welcome Jared Alcantara, new Associate Pastor!
Wednesday, September 7th, 2005Well, after months of reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and flying in our top interests for extended visits so that they could meet folks here at CRCC, we have asked Jared Alcantara to join the CRCC team as our new Associate Pastor with Student Ministries Emphasis. Jared comes to us with seven years of experience in [...]
Participate in Inheritance!
Wednesday, August 24th, 2005As part of the Inheritance this fall, we’re thinking all things “legacy.” What does that mean? Well, it means, in part, that we’re reworking the sanctuary to give it a home-like feel. You can be a part of this by clicking on the bulletin insert below…and discovering that you might have something to bring to [...]
God at Work in Inheritance
Tuesday, August 23rd, 2005I just finished an extremely cool meeting this afternoon with JoLinn Kampstra, the publisher of the Mt. Hood Gorge Connection circular here in Troutdale. Actually, her paper hits homes, apartment complexes, and businesses here and beyond, up to Sandy, Persimmon, Fairview, etc.
Anyway, what was so wonderful about the meeting is that JoLinn is considering [...]
Inhertiance Series Update
Friday, August 19th, 2005Hey everyone just a quick note because I’m thinking about it.
Karen Hawley has been doing a great job on our design elements for Inheritance. I just wanted to say that publically and to give you a quick picture of what I mean. Here’s one of the logos for the series…and this is only the tip [...]
Just Another Conference…or so I thought
Monday, August 15th, 2005Like many of you, I saw the Leadership Summit inserts in the bulletin. I listened to enthusiastic announcements regarding the conference. But in my own head…I thought just another conference. I have been to so many Leadership conferences they are all the same. In fact, I didn’t even sign myself up! I called [...]
A Defining Moment
Saturday, August 13th, 2005I have discovered my holy discontent, experienced my burning bush monent, and heard God’s assignment for my life. I don’t know where I am going, but I know who is leading me, and I accept the challenge laid out before me. All this in three days.
Associate Pastor Position at CRCC
Friday, August 12th, 2005As many of you know, the board approved a search for an associate pastor back in May of this year. This position is not like any we have hired for before. Together with the staff, the decision was made to look for an associate pastor who could not only shepherd our Jr. and Sr. High [...]
Church Picnic - July 10th
Friday, July 1st, 2005
Don’t miss out on our annual church picnic!
Every year on the first Sunday after the 4th of July we get together as a church family for fun, conversation, and relaxation. As in past years, Gary and Judy Miller are hosting our picnic at their beautiful home. This setting is the perfect place to enjoy all the festivities, which include burgers and dogs for everyone, games for adults and children alike, swimming all afternoon, and a few baptisms to top it all off!
Date: July 10th
Time: Noon to 4pm
Location: Gary and Judy Miller’s home (map).
To make the most of the day, you’ll want to bring a food item to share (last names of A-M please bring a large salad or side dish; last names of N-Z please bring a large dessert), drinks, chairs, blankets, swim suits, and towels.
