This Sunday we’re having a “class” we like to call Discovery. We call it that because we invite you to Discover what Columbia Ridge is all about and decide whether you would like to take your next step here and become a member.

But what, exactly, is a member? This is an important question, since it would probably be really easy to just come to the class and sign on and tada! you’re a member! And you go on living the rest of your life, proudly boasting your membership, but not really understanding what it means.

So membership at Columbia Ridge means this: You’re here and you’re invested.

You’re here. You have made Columbia Ridge your “home.” You’ll be there on Sunday mornings, whenever possible, even if it means that last week’s sermon didn’t knock your socks off. Or someone at your LifeGroup on Thursday said something inconsiderate. You’ve made a commitment to a local body of Christ and you’re in.

You’re invested. Praying for people and the church as a whole. Getting involved with a ministry, by volunteering or serving. Caring for people and being cared for by them.
