In 2006, God gave Columbia Ridge a dream to pair a movement for our church family with a movement to alleviate hunger and suffering in Africa. Together, these movements became known as Side By Side.
The Local Congregation
What Side By Side means for Columbia Ridge in Troutdale is a permanent place to call home. We are currently in the process of paying off land in order to begin building. We are in no rush—we’re completely at the mercy of God’s timing. And we’re not willing to go into any major debt in order to do it. But we’re following God’s lead whenever and wherever He takes us and we’re excited to have something that requires us to continually depend on Him.
Across the World
What Side by Side means internationally is that we have partnered with a community called Mhlosheni in Swaziland, Africa to sponsor children in ways that allow them a better education, complete healthcare, and adequate meals. To offer funds that allow the community to build sustainable resources such as community centers and gardens. And to provide for specialized education in critical areas such as HIV/AIDS.
